Broadway is home to one in four Vancouver renters, and Mayor Stewart’s promise to each of these renters is that the Broadway Plan will have the strongest renter protections in Canada. 

The current draft of the Broadway Plan includes a number of good protections for tenants in buildings going through redevelopment.

However, the Mayor’s bolder plan goes further by calling for those paying more modest rents to have the right to return to their new rental building – at the same rent as before or lower, protecting all renters, especially those with long tenure.

A bolder Broadway plan is possible, one that adds 50,000 new neighbours while protecting each and every current renter with the strongest tenant protections in Canada.
